Usually the spark plug breaks at the most inopportune moment. This may be due to both marriage and the fact that the spare part is “stuck”, and an attempt to unscrew it led to sad consequences. The AvtoVzglyad portal tells you what to do if such a nuisance occurs.

Usually the corrugation of the insulator breaks at the candle, or the threaded part gets stuck in the cylinder head. In the first case, a piece of insulator remains in the hands of the driver, and in the second, the candle itself without an earth electrode. Both cases are unpleasant, because the motor will not work normally with such candles. So you have to look for a way to remove the remnants of the spare part from the candle well and install a new one.

This problem is actually quite common. Therefore, it can be solved both by outdated methods and by purchasing the right tool. If you take the easy way, which turns out to be the most expensive, you will have to buy the so-called extractors in the store. Outwardly, they look like drills, but they have a “reverse” spiral to the drills. This solution makes them stick to damaged fasteners and allow them to be unscrewed.

There is also an easier old fashioned way. It’s great if the threaded portion of the candle stays in the head of the block. First you need to take an ordinary flat screwdriver, which can easily penetrate the candle well. The only difficulty is to correctly select the thickness of the tip. This is only done through experience. The tip should fit snugly into the inside diameter of the threaded portion of the candle.

Then we push the screwdriver well into the candle and very carefully with a hammer we work the tip of the screwdriver into the rest of the candle. Then slowly start turning the screwdriver so that the rest of the candle begins to unscrew. Sometimes you can use a ratchet, but the main thing here is not to “overdo” it with effort. If everything works, the fragment of the spare part is unscrewed and can be pulled out. This method is great if the outage happened on the way.

But that is not everything. After the procedure, you need to thoroughly clean the candle and the combustion chamber from dirt. Because that’s where the dirt comes in. To do this, the cylinder is blown with compressed air, and in the field the engine is turned “idle”, that is, without a candle. Then all the waste flies out by itself.
