The Russian authorities have doubled the subsidy for the installation of LPG in cars

Recently, the Russian authorities have actively promoted the dubious idea of mass electrification of transport, but they have not yet given up on other alternatives to gasoline and diesel. To take the same gas as an example, the government has doubled the subsidy for converting civilian vehicles to methane – the corresponding decree has already been signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

A few years ago, shortly before the general madness of electric transport, the Russian authorities, represented by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, called gas the most suitable fuel for our country. And then to stimulate citizens’ transition to methane, state subsidies were introduced for the installation of HBO. But it seems that this measure has not had the desired result, and the officials have revised the terms of the “action of generosity”.

So now the government is willing to cover not 24% of the cost of refitting the car, but 48%, Kommersant reports. It remains only to simplify the process of formalizing the procedure by reducing the number of necessary traffic police approvals, which was proposed at the beginning of the year by the Committee of the Federation Council for Economic Policy.

We add that according to the Avtostat agency, as of April 2022, gasoline cars will make up 84% of the Russian fleet, diesel cars 10%, and cars with LPG only 5%.
