The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has developed a draft strategy for the development of the Russian automotive industry until 2035. It contains a list of the main spare parts, assemblies and components to be located in the country. Judging by this long list, they want to recreate the auto industry almost from scratch.
According to TASS, the development of an internal combustion engine and its components, automatic transmissions, ABS and ESP systems, airbags and seat belts were among the priority areas. The investment volume in the production of auto parts is planned to reach 190 billion rubles by 2035.
In addition, this list includes electric motors, fuel equipment, suspension elements, as well as varnishes and paints used in the manufacture of cars.
In addition, Russia plans to develop special steels and alloys for the production of body panels and load-bearing elements of car structures. There will also be polymers used in the manufacture of fuel tanks, as well as fabrics and materials for interior trim.
As you can see, the list is very long and includes all the components without which it is simply impossible to make a modern car. The implementation of such a plan will require enormous costs and time for the organization of production. But the main thing is that the components produced must be of high quality, otherwise the attempt to create a technologically advanced “our brand” will end with the production of “Classics”.
