The journalist stated in his latest article that he shared that car sales are gradually declining, but that revenues from SCT also increased in reverse drew attention. Car sales fall, revenues from SCT continue to rise:

The table above shows the monthly turnover and income from SCT in the first 7 months of the last two years. According to the table, sales in the automotive sector in the first 7 months of this year decreased by 6.45% compared to the previous year. While 461 thousand 776 sales were realized in the first 7 months of 2021, this number was announced as 432 thousand 10 this year.

On the other hand, the income obtained from SCT i.e. entering the treasury is increased by more than 100% seen. The income generated by the increase in car prices due to the dollar exchange rate and the corresponding increase in the amount of SCT applied to the base price increased by 101.38% in one year, reaching 72 billion 175 million 325 thousand TL.

An average of 205,000 TL of SCT was collected per vehicle:

Özpeynirci’s table, which he based on data from the Ministry of Finance and Finance, also revealed the average SCT collection per vehicle last month. This value, which stood at 92,783 TL in 2021, rose to 205,603 TL last month. The average SCT collection per vehicle over the first 7 months of the year was as follows:

• 2021: 77,612 TL
• 2022: 167,068 TL

So what does this data say? Unfortunately not what we want:

The above results showed that despite the decline in car sales, the money going into the treasury continued to rise. According to Özpeynirci, this shows that there will be no reduction in SCT and it would be a mistake to expect a reduction. Since the SCT target for 2022 is set by the state, already in the first 7 months of the year.
