Dmitry Pronin, who took over the post of head of the revived car plant in Moskvich in May, spoke on his Telegram channel about the current tasks and plans of the enterprise. So, he confirmed the SKD assembly of 600 cars by the end of the year, and also announced the creation of his own electric car platform under the Moskvich brand.

Mr Pronin began by saying that the factory is now in “an active phase of work on the project”. Most likely they meant the preparation for the production of those same 600 cars, 200 of which were electric trains. It is curious that representatives of Moskvich are still trying to hold onto the intrigue by not telling which cars will be put on the conveyor. Although it has long been clear to everyone that the revived factory will most likely produce refurbished JACs.

There are several indirect confirmations of this. Most importantly, photos of the JAC crossover without nameplates, seen at the Kama Automobile Plant, were “leaked” to the network last week. Now that the model is being studied, test trials are of course being carried out. And why else would KamAZ need a sample of a Chinese SUV, other than to prepare for assembly in Moskvich? Everything comes together.

This is in relation to the company’s current plans, which the car factory promised to implement by the end of 2022. Then, according to Mr. Pronin, Moskvich will develop its own platform for electric vehicles, but there are no details. And given the love of the capital factory for foreign technologies, it can be assumed that it can not borrow here without. As with JAC cars, they will remove all identifiers and pass them on as their own cars. However, time will tell.
