Less than a month has passed since Great Wall patented the Cannon pickup truck in Russia, and images of another Chinese corporate truck, King Kong Poer, have already appeared in the Federal Institute of Industrial Property’s open database. In fact, this is a “luxury” version of the well-known Poer model, which was presented at the beginning of this year.
It seems that the Great Wall company has decided to conquer not only the Chinese, but also the Russian pickup market, which, however, can hardly be called a market, since the segment represents only about 0.7% of sales. On the other hand, obtaining a patent on the appearance of King Kong Poer does not guarantee the receipt of new items in showrooms. It is possible that the “heavenly” car manufacturer “turns out” the design of the truck, as they say, just in case.
Be that as it may, the document has been received – you can carry out certification and open an order table. But what is this car? Despite “King Kong” being a “luxury” version of Poer, they have developed their own bodies for it. The frame has been preserved, but the panels and optics are original. At the same time, the Chinese did not touch the chassis, frame and power units.
In the domestic market, King Kong Poer is offered in two versions with a 163 hp petrol turbo engine. Of. and supercharged “diesel” for 190 powers. There are also two gearboxes: a six-speed “mechanics” and an eight-speed “automatic”. The buyer can also choose the type of drive: rear or fully wired.
Today, Haval dealers (a subsidiary of Great Wall Motors) sell two pickups in Russia: GWM Wingle 7 at a price of 3 million rubles and, in fact, Poer – they ask for it from 3,800,000 rubles. But Chinese trucks are not in demand at all: in the first 7 months of the year they sold a modest edition of 415 units. However, this can be considered a good result, since Russians are totally uninteresting in pickups.
