The advent of Android 13 and Google’s promises for their smartphones

Android 13 has been officially released and is rolling out gradually to compatible phones from various brands including Pixel, Samsung, Motorola, and Xiaomi.

In addition to a personalized interface, Google’s operating system also introduces new security features and optimizes features to make the smartphone more practical and useful in everyday life.

Knowing that every version of Android always brings a few new features, we have summarized the main news in this video.

What’s new in Android 13

Google recently announced the global release of Android 13, and as usual, the system will initially only be available for devices in the Pixel line (branded by Google). Pixels are not officially sold in Brazil, although some people import these phones to use them here.

Anyway, Android 13 will arrive later this year for more devices like Samsung Galaxy, Asus, HMD (Nokia), iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo, Xiaomi and more.

On the design news of Android 13, we can mention with improvements in appearance and customization, continuing with Material You.

You can now customize third-party apps to match the theme and wallpaper colors. At the same time, the main screen of the device is unified and can reflect the personal style of each user.

One of the coolest features of the system is the ability to set different languages for each application. That is, you can leave the cell phone system in Portuguese if you like, and each app in other different languages to study them, for example.

The Android 13 media player has also been updated, with a new look and feel when playing music, podcasts, and other media through the Chrome browser. For example, when listening to a song, it highlights the album cover, and its progress bar “dances” as the song progresses.

With the new Android, it is also possible to customize the sleep mode with reduced wallpaper brightness and a dark theme. It is worth remembering that this was already possible, only manually. Now you can leave this setting as automatic.

When it comes to media, Google wants to prevent unintentional sharing of videos, photos, or sensitive information in certain apps. If you copy sensitive information such as email, address, mobile number, or login information to your device, Android will automatically clear your clipboard history after a certain period of time so that the information doesn’t just stay there.

Downloaded apps will also need to request permission to send alerts as on-screen notifications rather than send those alerts by default.

And while we’re on the subject of messaging, Android 13 lets you stream content from messaging apps straight to your Chromebook. This includes Google Messages and other popular apps like WhatsApp.

And when connected, Android-compatible headphones that allow head tracking will use Spatial Audio, which changes the audio source according to head movements. Through this, Google hopes to create a more immersive experience on Android phones and tablets.

The new version of the system also uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), a new Bluetooth standard that reduces latency compared to classic audio. The sound is even more synchronized with the audio source and reduces latency, which is good for those who like to play games or watch series on their mobile phone from time to time.

And for tablets that get the system, the taskbar has been updated. Now you can see all apps at a glance, easily drag and drop any app to your library using split screen view.
