According to Khodro Bank’s website, development has been underway for a few years, but so far the companies have only presented a concept car. Apparently, the Iranians want to develop their own analogue of the lifted Renault Kwid hatchback, which is comparable in size to the Renault Sandero Stepway known to us. If you look closely at the photo, we can assume that this is the Renault Kwid, only with a heavily modified front and rear.
As for the platform, the K112 is based on a Ben Got “trolley”, owned by SAIPA. Rumor has it that this is a copied Renault CMF-A architecture. The development delay is most likely due to Renault Kwid failing many crash tests, forcing the French to make changes to the design. The Iranians are apparently also solving a similar problem.
If everything goes according to plan and the novelty appears in the showrooms, it can be brought to Russia. After all, we have almost no lifted shutters, if you don’t count LADA XRAY.
