The Public Chamber counts all the traffic police cameras on the roads to remove half

After the incident in Yekaterinburg, when complexes of automatic photographic fixation of violations fined a local driver for a detached hug, the deputies again began to talk about the need to put order in the “room” economy. In particular, Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, shared his initiatives in this area with the AvtoVzglyad portal.

Let’s start with the fact that, according to the deputy, up to 70% of the cameras should be removed. Because, according to the choice of the people, the main task of these devices is not to improve road safety, but to replenish local budgets. What, does Mr. Nilov certainly is, at the very least immoral and at most criminal. Therefore, he plans to start a large-scale all-Russian test of automatic photo and video recording systems.

– The Liberal Democratic Party came up with the idea of applying to the Civil Chamber of the Russian Federation and, after the September 11 elections, together with regional OPs, the traffic police and the media, conduct raids for violations to identify the installation and operation of cameras – especially commercial, non-stationary. And the results of such raids should be presented to the deputies of regional parliaments,” Yaroslav Nilov said in an interview with a correspondent for the AvtoVzglyad portal.

And this initiative certainly deserves attention and support. If only because thanks to such a “research” we will be able to find out and understand with almost 100% probability the real state of the infamous “room” economy. However, it is highly doubtful that, based on the results of this monitoring, both the regional and federal governments will dare to liquidate complexes that are clearly intended to replenish the treasury. After all, there is a lack of money in the country for obvious reasons.
