The Russian traffic police has published data on traffic accidents that occurred in the seven months of this year. The AvtoVzglyad portal found an interesting but sad pattern in it.

According to the traffic police, the number of accidents in Russia has fallen sharply compared to last year. The total number of accidents with casualties decreased by no less than 6.5% to 66,200 accidents. The number of road injuries decreased by about the same number: 6.6% (84,000 people). Traditionally, almost 90% of accidents in our country are caused by drivers. Another thing is curious. Statistics claim that 17.4% of all accidents were caused by speeds that do not correspond to current road conditions. And another 9.9% of the incidents were due to incorrect distance selection. In other words, about 25% of all crashes happened because motorists simply didn’t have enough brains to correctly assess and respond to the road reality around them.

After all, even a novice “steersman” can understand that it is dangerous to “crawl” against the stern of the vehicle in front. And rushing down a wet or snowy trail is the same. But no. And worn out, and “pressed”. It will not work to write off such a huge “curvature” of motorists for inexperience. Traffic police claim that drivers with less than two years of experience have only had 3,800 accidents (less than 6% of their total) since the beginning of the year. That is 4.8% less than a year earlier. This confirms the fact that millions of formally “experienced drivers” are now “cutting” the country’s roads that really shouldn’t be driving.
