Following technological evolution, a television culture performs technical tests with the camera Cinema Alta VENICE 2 and its new 8.6K full-frame image sensor. The action is part of a partnership between the group and Sony record in 8K resolution something unique to Brazil, content that will be presented next Wednesday (13) at the Teatro Franco Zampari in São Paulo.

This is not the first time the station has taken a leading position in the area. In December 2021, it began showing content with Dolby Atmos sound technology, originally intended for cinemas but later expanded for home use. This feature delivers multi-dimensional sound that, according to its creator, “creative professionals everywhere place every sound exactly where they want it.” TV Cultura is the only one in Latin America that uses it.

In an interview with SET magazine, station CTO Nelson Faria praised the camera and Dolby Armos experience and went into more detail about how much they add to broadcasts.

“The quality, even with the work that we can deliver in HD today, is greatly improved,” he said. “Today we make a lot of 4K recordings and show them in HD. Many of the recordings we make have very little 4K capability, but the quality of the resolution improves in HD as well. At 8K, the difference is even more noticeable. We record, for example, 8K, 24P, that is, the texture of the cinema.”

Technology helps with transmissions

“We still have little experience in recording clips that will become content for calls, for stock shots, all in 8K. They will end up being used for many years by TV Cultura because the quality is sensational. Samba.”

However, according to Faria, this technology also helps with transitions that are smoother and show a noticeable improvement in quality, like in today’s series. According to him, one can “feel the difference of entertainment television [para de] journalism, which are tougher videos”.
