In August of this year, the residents of Togliatti managed to sell 11,580 sedans and SUVs. And this is 77% higher than in July 2022 and 131% higher than in August 2021. The auto giant seems to be doing better, but not everything is so simple.
According to the company’s press service, sales of LADA Niva Legend cars, that is, the “classic Niva”, in August 2022 amounted to 1,782 units. That is almost 3 times (+185%) more than in July 2022 and 17% higher than in August 2021.
Incidentally, production also had problems with the supply of car parts last year. They did not bypass the “Grant”. For example, LADA Granta’s average monthly sales amounted to 9,286 vehicles in 2021, which is lower than the result for August this year.
In total, 18,087 passenger cars and light commercial LADA models were sold in Russia in the last summer of 2022, 75.2% more than in July 2022. For example, August sales of LADA cars from the Granta and NIVA families (which includes both the former Shniva and the “classic” Legend) nearly reached the 2021 level. And then the factory workers produced a line of five models.
However, there are still many difficulties. Cars go off the assembly line without ABS systems. But the factory managed to arrange the supply of airbags and components for ERA-GLONASS.
