At the RDRC Racepark circuit, five-time Russian drag race champion Dmitry Samorukov covered a distance of 1/4 mile (402.33 meters) in 5.888 seconds. No one has done this before! The speed of the 4000 hp Dodge Viper at the finish was set at 397.79 km/h. The application for registration of the record has been sent to the Russian Automobile Federation.
For the first time in our country, a car covered such a distance in less than six seconds. By the way, the previous officially recorded record was also set by RDRC pilot Dmitry Samorukov.
And this time, in the final, fifth leg of the RDRC Drag Racing Championship and Cup, the attempt allowed him to improve the result by 0.437 seconds.
“We have been going for this result for seven years and in the end we were able to get out of six seconds. There are still a lot of ideas to be implemented. We will aim to get out of the 5 seconds, but probably already on another vehicle,” noted Dmitry Samorukov on the AvtoVzglyad portal.
