
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, announced that production of the Russian luxury SUV Aurus Komendant will begin before the end of this year. Portal “AvtoVzlyad” provides details.
The official presentation of Aurus Komenadant is scheduled for September 29 in Moscow. It will take place in the Special Purpose Garage Museum of the FSO of Russia in VDNKh. Denis Manturov announced this during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. He added that series production of the representative SUV of the domestic car brand will begin in late November or early December 2022.
Recall that the Komenadant SUV is another representative of the Aurus line. The Senate executive limousine became the first in it. A hearse was also produced on its basis. In addition, the Arsenal minivan is present in the lineup of the brand. The last two models first came to the attention of the general public during the funeral ceremony of the head of the Liberal Democrat party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
Cars are assembled at a factory in Yelabuga, Tatarstan. The company’s shareholders are FSUE NAMI, which owns 63.5%, and the UAE Defense, Security and Development Fund, RIA Novosti reports.
