The Koreans started a recall of the brand new Kia Sportage, which did not even have time to go on sale. It turned out that cars can stall
The recall affected just under 20,000 Kia Sportage crossovers produced between January 12 and August 8, 2022. The reason you should call in a car service lies in the loose battery nut connecting the wires to the generator terminal. If the electrical connection deteriorates, the crossover may simply stall while driving, threatening to cause an accident.
Worse, power surges risk creating a spark that can melt the wiring, and this, as you might suspect, can turn into a fire. True, so far there have been no fires, but cases of engine stalling on the way have been recorded. That is why, in fact, the Koreans decided to save themselves from problems, cars from a breakdown and customers from a phobia. To do this, additional checks are put in place at the production site, cars that have already left the assembly line are checked and, of course, the infamous battery nuts are repaired.
So far we are only talking about the North American market, but in our country the new generation Kia Sportage has not gone on sale. Meanwhile, the first batch of cars even rolled out of the gates of the brand’s Russian factory, and dealers announced price tags for the model. But alas, you won’t be able to find a crossover for sale. Let’s hope this is temporary.
