Metropolitan Deptrans again mocked drivers in paid parking spaces
Even a good deed, the metropolitan Deptrans can’t help but provide a lot of strange conditions and restrictions that are seen as a deliberate mockery of drivers. This happened with the next improvement in the mobile parking application. This is reported by the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

Deptrans of the capital posted a long-awaited announcement on the Mosparking website. Now, in Russian Parking mobile application, motorists can edit the parking time, car license plate and parking zone number. For starters, the option works only in Moscow, and later in St. Petersburg. Excellent? At first glance, yes. After all, the app reports 1.1 million active users every month. Innovations must please them!

But the specialists of the Moscow Ministry of Transport acted in accordance with the principle: make sure that, along with something necessary, we create something pointlessly irritating, reducing the usefulness of the innovation almost “to nothing”. It happened this time too. First, you can only change something in the parking session data until the end of the day it occurred. Did I realize, as is usually the case, that I made a mistake when entering data a day later? We don’t know anything – pay a fine, baby!

Second, in the parking session data, only one thing can be corrected: either the time it started, or its end, or the number of the car or the parking zone. The question is, why can’t you change both the time and the zone?! Or both the license plate of the car and the time?! Many families have multiple cars and it is easy to forget the vehicle number in the application. The situation is the same if a person periodically travels with a work vehicle or with a personal vehicle. What will change the fact that it will be possible to change all session parameters at once? Yet their reliability is checked by “parkons” or by parking attendants?!

But the most “icing on the cake” is the inability to fix more than three parking sessions in a month. And why introduce a limit?! Or does someone at Deptrans realize that the computing power of the parking system is simply not enough for this logical possibility? Or will communication lines “collapse” from possible traffic? In fact, this version is easy to believe, especially if you remember how the Moscow parking application likes to “freeze” and “fail”.

Well, the last condition for editing the parking session data, uttered by Deptrans, directly indicates that this whole system has practically no “margin of safety” necessary for the operation of a normal service. So: you can only change the start or end time of parking after it has expired by itself. It happens that the user has completed it by force. For example, knowing that something is wrong in the data and exiting the application at the same time. It doesn’t matter: you just closed the session – that’s all, you can’t change the parking time!

Even if you got a fine for this, don’t worry, pay according to the receipt and don’t buzz, dear lover of paid parking. In general, we come to a sad conclusion if we consider the above-mentioned conditions, under which editing of the parking session is allowed, in a complex. It’s simple: by agreeing to an upgrade of the application, the figures from Mosparking and Deptrans clearly tried to ensure that the total amount of fines that car owners have to pay for unintentional mistakes made when working with the parking application is not has fallen sharply.
