The Russian auto parts market appears to have recovered after a panic attack and price hikes for all sorts of things in the spring of this year. However, this recovery was not entirely satisfactory. The AvtoVzglyad portal tells why and what “ambushes” are still waiting for car owners.

Many well-known auto parts manufacturers, mainly European ones, decided in March-April this year that it was now too difficult for them to work in Russia. Therefore, some of them have completely closed their Russian offices, while others modestly announced a “suspension of activities” on our territory. This has created a rather specific situation: the products of some global spare parts brands are on the verge of disappearing, if not completely, from the Russian market.

How this ends is well illustrated by the situation in the automotive light source niche. Despite the outdated terry cloth of their design, halogen lamps are very popular with us. They are in the headlights of millions of cars, old and new. After all, “LEDs” in the same headlight are usually present only in expensive trim levels of modern cars. And in Russia, cars with affordable “halogen” in the headlights have always been in demand. In the meantime, these lamps from big brands such as Osram, Philips, Bosch, for example, were no longer available on the domestic market a few months ago.

And car owners accustomed to the stable quality of their products are increasingly faced with the question: what should change the burnt-out “halogen” of the same Osram? So that everything shines long and bright in the old way? Yes, analog lamps from “light” brands of the second or third echelon (from incomprehensible Chinese brands and just any counterfeit) – the sea! Take it – I don’t want it. But this path, which we now no longer know when we can get off, is very much like a game of chance. In which you can bet which of these obscure light bulbs will last the longest. And in general, can it really light the way?

This means that we will have to buy halogen lamps much more often and more often than before – to replace prematurely extinguished or hopelessly dimming ones. A small thing, of course, but unpleasant. It seems we should remember the experience of grandfathers, who without fail carried a set of spare halogen headlights in the “glove boxes” of their “Lada”. You never know: suddenly “China” goes inconvenient on a nighttime road and a quick replacement is required …
