In the future, engineers want to design an electric motor that will be placed near the rear axle. This removes the drive shaft, reducing the weight of the car. Here I note that weight is a pain point of any “electric train” because traction batteries are heavy. As for the EVM Pro, this electric truck weighs 2650 kg. and any lighting of the structure will benefit the car.
But enough words, it’s time to try the truck in action. It turned out that everything is not so simple. Since there are only two prototypes and they do not have number plates, the journalists were not allowed to drive: they drove only in the passenger seat through the territory of a closed park.
The impressions of the journey are familiar and unknown at the same time. The cabin is a well-known UAZ. Hard plastic panels, spartan finishes, a narrow bench, on which two passengers fit with their elbows pressed together. Ulyanovsk technology brings melancholy. But the car’s behavior is perky. It starts only under good tires, and acceleration, even in the conditions of the closed space of the industrial zone, is quite cheerful. It seems that such a UAZ will easily beat any Mercedes-AMG at a traffic light.
Unfortunately, nothing can be said about the steering wheel and the brakes. From the side of some anomalies, however, I did not see that “Profi” is famous for the fact that it steers slowly and the brakes leave much to be desired. At the same time, the weight of the truck increased. I feel it with my whole body when passing speed bumps. But the chassis doesn’t even have a superstructure…
