At a conference in the Chinese city of Wuhu, Chery introduced a new brand GENE, under which it aims to sell the most modern and technologically advanced models. The pioneer of the new brand was the Chery GENE concept with a very ambiguous appearance.
It seems that the five-meter crossover was deliberately “crowned” with such an unusual body and a scattering of ambiguous decisions. Chery GENE has a huge “line” of LED head optics, and below that is something like a rear wing. At the same time, the concept has impressive ground clearance. It is unlikely to go into series, but engineers will no doubt use some solutions for future brand cars.
Most likely, cars under the GENE brand will be based on the E0X platform, designed for electric vehicles, or on EXIII, the most advanced the manufacturer has. The first production models with the GENE nameplate on the body may appear in a few years.
