Taxi drivers want to switch to domestic cars

In circumstances when the Russian car assembly plants of the vast majority of foreign brands have been shut down, AVTOVAZ has become, in fact, the only supplier of passenger cars on the Russian market. Apparently this situation will continue for quite some time. Since potential rival companies – the Moscow plant “Moskvich” and the Lipetsk manufacturer of electric cars “Evolut” – will start producing their vehicles, it is still unknown when.
For example, Mr. Sokolov is almost openly lobbying for a legislative measure that will force taxi fleets to buy AVTOVAZ products, giving the Togliatti company a guaranteed sales market for LADA Granta and, in the future, LADA Vesta.
However, the taxi law has been the subject of discussion for several years and the end of the discussions about the rules of the game on the taxi market prescribed therein is still not in sight. Therefore, it is likely that by the time legislators pass the final version of the taxi law, AvtoVAZ will not be particularly interested in this sales market.
