Japan’s Isuzu is considering closing its car assembly plant in Ulyanovsk. The current suspension of the work of Isuzu Rus JSC could lead to the complete liquidation of production, according to the AvtoVzglyad portal.

The headquarters of the Isuzu brand is thinking about the complete collapse of its car assembly plant in Ulyanovsk. This is reported by the Japanese edition of Yomiuri. As a basis for making such a decision, it is indicated that the impossibility of supplying the enterprise with components. Before the start of the well-known events, Ulyanovsk JSC Isuzu Rus produced a line of Isuzu trucks on chassis with a gross weight of 3.5 to 33 tons. Isuzu D-Max pickups were also assembled there.

In addition, the Sollers Auto group confirmed the information that appeared in the media about Mazda management’s plans to completely exit the car assembly joint venture in Vladivostok. In all cases, the official reason for such decisions is problems with the supply of auto parts to Russian enterprises of Japanese car manufacturers.
