During the eight months of this year, car production in Russia has fallen sharply compared to the year 2021. The AvtoVzglyad portal publishes official data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
– About 420,000 cars left the conveyor belts of domestic car factories, which is 60% less than in the same period last year. In terms of declining production, we see a decrease in buses and trucks to a lesser extent – about 12-14%. The biggest drop is in passenger cars – more than 60%, – said Albert Karimov, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Recall that in August of this year, car production in Russia showed a local increase: to 37,000 units, which is 26% more than in July.
Karimov also noted that by 2022, cars produced in Russia will represent 80% of the national car market. That is about the same as last year.
