An updated BMW X7 with two-tier optics is presented.

BMW introduced the updated X7. The crossover received a new look with two-tier front optics, a modification of the M60i xDrive and an extended list of equipment.

Air suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, four-zone climate control, iDrive 8 media with a curved display, as well as a new interior decor element – a luminous strip with the inscriptions “X7” or “M”, which is part of the contour lighting, became standard for the model.

When BMW showed the XM concept with double-deck front optics, they immediately warned that all older models would receive such a design. As expected, the restyled X7 was the first to find a new face.

The crossover got rid of the branded “angel eyes” – only rudimentary stripes of navigation lights on the upper tier, as well as “foglights” that replace the special mode of operation of standard matrix headlights, remind of them. Lighting units are located at the bottom, covered with tinted glass and slightly recessed by bumpers.

Lanterns with thinner sections and three-dimensional graphics are connected by a glass-covered chrome bridge. The facelifted X7 can be ordered with Iconic Glow and redesigned M Sport and M Sport Pro packages. Sparkling Copper Gray and M Marina Bay Blue metallics have been added to the body color palette (X7 M60i xDrive only). The base wheels are still 20-inch (21 with the M Sport package), but for the first time 23-inch wheels are on the options list.

There are three rows of seats inside. As standard, there is a triple sofa in the center, which can be replaced with two separate armchairs. The driver and passenger seats are heated as standard.

Extended upholstery in genuine leather BMW Individual Merino “in the base” is only available for the X7 for the European market, while other countries put Sensafin leatherette. With restyling, the crossover also got iDrive 8 multimedia with a curved screen, like the electric iX, and a new automatic selector. The luminous strip with the inscription “X7” or “M” is part of the contour illumination.

The standard equipment of the BMW X7 includes air suspension with adaptive dampers, four-zone climate control, panoramic roof, HiFi audio system, sports steering wheel and wireless charging. The list of options includes an illuminated Sky Lounge roof, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround music, heated second and third row seats, steering wheel, armrest, and active front seat ventilation.

There are updates and electronic assistants. For example, the automatic braking system now recognizes pedestrians, cyclists and oncoming cars that return across the path. Parking Assistant Professional remembers not 50, but already 200 m of the distance traveled and can reproduce it in reverse order. In addition, for the first time on the X7, there is a danger warning function when opening the door.

All X7 engines received a new 48-volt starter-generator with a capacity of 12 forces and 200 Nm of torque. The base inline six-cylinder diesel 3.0 in the X7 xDrive40d version develops 352 horsepower and 720 Nm. Modification X7 xDrive40i comes with an updated petrol “six”. She has improved injection and ignition systems, the gas distribution mechanism has been replaced, and the peak output is 380 forces and 540 Nm (it was 333 hp and 450 Nm). The acceleration time to “hundreds” of such a crossover was reduced from 6.3 to 5.8 seconds.

The M50i was replaced by the X7 M60i xDrive, but with the same technology. Biturbomotor V8 4.4 here still produces 530 forces and 750 Nm of torque, and acceleration to 100 kilometers takes the same 4.7 seconds. The M60i comes standard with Integral Active Steering with rear axle steering, active stabilizers and an M Sport rear differential.

To produce restyled BMW X7 at the American plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The start of sales is scheduled for August this year.
