The Coolest and Most Ridiculous MAZ Cars You Better Not Know
Don’t be surprised, but the Minsk Automobile Plant has managed to release a whole bunch of crazy projects in its history. The AvtoVzglyad portal decided to recall the most stunning of them. There’s no question, these machines really arouse respect, no less than a shock.

At various times, MAZ was pleased or angry with his incredible crafts, which, however, had every right to exist.

The automaker has the longest trolleybus, a van for Africans, a car to work in Arctic conditions, a bus with a truck cab and even a mobile police station.

We decided to introduce you to many more “freaky” car projects from Belarus.

“CARBONATE” BUS

Perhaps this is the most solid car in our review. However, judge for yourself.

In the late 1990s, a MAZ-104S city bus rolled into the streets of Minsk – a product of the “rationalization” of the MinskTransGas office, which “planted” the car on methane and hoisted a dozen cylinders on the roof. The windshield was proudly decorated with a sign “the bus runs on an environmentally friendly fuel – natural gas”.

True, the mass production of gas modifications happened only after more than ten years.

“CAR PRINT”

At the beginning of the 2000s, Minskers hit on many more mundane technologies, releasing the sanitary-hygienic MAZ-163. A feature of the development was the urinals installed in the passenger compartment of the bus. In addition, the company received an order from the St. Petersburg “Vodokanal” for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

The car toilet is designed for public events. In addition, there were two changes – for women and men. The corresponding letters “M” and “Zh” became symbolic prefixes for the index in the title.

“TRUNK-CAR BED”

By the middle of the “tenth”, Belarusians were concerned about the comfort of passengers at airport terminals, for which they created the MAZ-107 bus, which became famous for the presence of luggage racks in interiors that vaguely resemble beds of places that not so distant.

By the way, the people even called the luggage racks “shkonki”. Maybe that’s why these buses quickly disappeared from service?
