5 reasons why a car with a “diesel” from Europe will ruin its owner
In times of total scarcity of new cars, citizens turned their attention to the secondary market. And many cars with diesel engines are imported from Europe. The AvtoVzglyad portal advises not to view such copies, as they will ruin the owner immediately after purchase.

Usually in every “European” with a diesel engine there are several systems that complicate the life of such a car in Russia. This is the AdBlue urea injection, already called with a bad word, as well as a particulate filter, an inverter and an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve.

In a diesel car, the particulate filter is often still clogged on European roads. If the car comes to Russia and finds its buyer, then the problem will also be felt by a fault on the dashboard. As a rule, the owner does not attach much importance to this, because the filter can be removed. A citizen comes to the service with a request to carry out such a procedure and discovers to his surprise that in addition to the filter, the AdBlue system must also be switched off. And this is completely different money. Here we note that the masters express their opinion. If you don’t listen to it and, to save money, just turn off the particulate filter, the urea injection will “live” for a very short time.

And there are many problems with the system. The owner of a diesel car should check the amount of liquid in the tank. If the level is minimal, the electronics will limit the speed of the car, and if the urea is completely exhausted, the engine will not even start.

Problems “shine” even if only the neutralizer is removed. The particulate filter and AdBlue break quickly, simply because they only work together with the inverter.

As for the EGR valve, it functions separately from all the devices listed above. So here are possibilities. Or mute it without touching the rest. Or vice versa. However, there are subtleties in this problem. The valve also gets clogged with soot and deposits over time.

Of course, it can be disassembled and cleaned, but this will not help for a long time. Therefore, it is easier to install a special “firmware” with which the engine control module will not “see” the valve. And this is also an additional cost. And the domestic “diesel oil” is not of the best quality. As you can see, there are many problems, so it is easier to give preference to a car with a gasoline engine.
