We received a new one from LG Home cinema XBOOM LHD687, a slightly different product for those who are looking for good sound for giant screens with built-in DVD. With 1250W RMS divided into 4.2 channels, the home theater promises an immersive experience and a little nostalgia to remember the days of karaoke and DVD boxes.

The product has Bluetooth connectivity for playback through various devices, in addition to easy installation without relying on multiple cables to power the speakers. For video, it has FHD (high definition) resolution. The sound operates with alternating triggers within milliseconds to provide 4.2-channel surround sound.

It is also possible to control the speaker volume and select preset EQ modes such as Football Mode, Power Front Mode for different situations. In terms of connectivity, the product has Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, USB, P2, optical cable and RCA output. In addition, the home theater has LG TV Sound Sync, which allows you to quickly connect to LG TVs via Bluetooth.

MC: What is the target audience for this product?
LG: DVD only provides Full HD resolution, with enhanced quality, not reaching 4K. The focus of today’s TVs is 4K. Will this product be more geared towards people who like to listen to DVD music/video clips rather than movies?
Since we have 136″ FHD only panels, this product is perfect for them, great product for giant screens.
In addition, it is aimed at the general public who love powerful sounds for enjoying music, clips, etc., as well as non-Atmos content, as this product masterfully reproduces 5.1 content.

MS: System 4.2, how are these channels distributed?
LG: Does it even play surround sound, channeling the sound around the room, or is it mostly stereo with two channels on the left and two on the right?
The product works with interleaved frames with a difference of milliseconds, which allows you to create surround sound even when facing the front.

MC: Comparing this system to the SP9A soundbar, what would be the audience for both?
LG: The SP9 is a premium product capable of playing the best audio formats on the market. The relationship between them is the same as in a regular cinema, common rooms like Cinemark that provide 5.1 experience, on the other hand you have UCI Plus rooms that play Dolby Atmos sound. So the LHD687 x SP9A ratio covers all audiences and pockets.
