The Ministry of the Interior tightens the rules for conducting the exam for “laws”
The Ministry of the Interior has drafted new rules for taking a driving test – now it is in the phase of public discussions. Those who want to obtain ‘rights’ no longer need a medical certificate, but the procedure for testing knowledge and skills is becoming much more complicated.

Thus, after the approval of the relevant decision to participate in the exam events, the candidate does not need a medical certificate as the traffic police will request all information about the health status of a potential driver in electronic form from the Ministry of Health. On the one hand, this is good – less hassle with documents. On the other hand, it’s bad because we all know how “reliable and stable” these state internet databases are.

Other news is undeniably positive: it’s getting harder for traffic cops to take bribes for a tick in the ‘passed on’ column. After all, the draft new rules include the retrofitting of exam machines with light and sound alarms. It works in the case of double pedals – inspectors simply won’t be able to quietly help paid candidates. But this is not all.

Those who want to change a foreign driver’s license for freight and bus categories “C”, “D”, “CE”, “DE” and subcategories “C1”, “D1”, “C1E”, “D1E” to a Russian one, according to the rules mentioned in the text of the project of the Ministry of the Interior not only retake the final exam, but also the driving school training. So there is hope that the number of accidents caused by migrants will finally decrease.

Updates to the regulations also touched upon the grounds for terminating the driving test. Now an expired passport or medical certificate is enough to suspend testing. In addition, if the candidate does not pass one of the stages on the third attempt, he will be given the opportunity to retake it only after six months, and not after a month, as is the case now. According to the initiators, this is necessary to relieve traffic police officers.

It remains only to add that if everything goes according to the plan of the Ministry of the Interior, the decree on the introduction of new rules will enter into force on March 1, 2023.
