Hundreds of cars “hung” waiting for ferries to Crimea

Due to damage to the Crimean Bridge from the recent terrorist attack, freight traffic en route to the peninsula and back was diverted to a ferry across the Kerch Strait. The AvtoVzglyad portal tells about the situation that is developing there now.

– On the morning of October 10, at the site in the village of Ilyich – about 290 vehicles. Hot meals have already been provided to 160 passengers. Volunteers are on duty in the parking lot in Taman, but now there are no cars in the parking lot. There are 124 trucks on site near the port of Kavkaz. Volunteers have already provided hot meals for about 60 people. More than 50 passengers were transported on a passenger ferry to Kerch, the press service of the Krasnodar Territory Administration said.

The ferries have reportedly been operating 14 trips as of October 9 at 6am. At the same time, about 1,200 people and 136 devices were transported. Recall that early in the morning on October 8, a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge. There was a partial collapse of two spans of the car part of the structure in the direction “to the Crimea”. On this section along the part of the bridge previously used for the passage of cars from Crimea, reverse traffic for passenger cars is currently being organized.
