Sergey Khrantskevich, deputy head of the Propaganda Department of the Traffic Police of the Russian Federation, announced that the topic of “management of an electric scooter” should be included in the Federal State Education Standards (FSES). The AvtoVzglyad portal assessed the intentions of the police officer.
— The speech here should even, probably, not only be that we have to explain and explain to children from an early age, this is of course necessary. Probably, it is already necessary to introduce this in the federal state educational standards, which are being developed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, – Khrantskevich said on KP radio.
Recall that earlier the head of the Scientific Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Dmitry Mitroshin, spoke out in support of the development and implementation of a course on the use of electric scooters in the school curriculum. Thus, it can be argued that the theme of the electric scooter has become very fashionable in the corridors of the offices of the State Inspectorate for Automobiles in the capital.
Talking about introducing a “young electric scooter course” into the federal state education standard is serious. And extraordinarily revealing. ‘Talking heads’ departments regularly talk about accident victims among young people. Also because of violations of the traffic rules by the children themselves. But in that sense, the road police are quite happy with the existing (and extremely ineffective!) “prevention”: periodically rare street raids such as “Beware of children” and essentially formal “classes” according to the traffic rules at the beginning of the school year – not in every school And not in every class.
Although in fact it would be much more correct to introduce traffic rules as such in the official school curriculum (via the same GEF). If a child is “chased” every week for knowledge of the rules and typical dangerous situations on the street, the chance that he will commit some kind of suicidal stupidity on the road decreases dramatically. That’s what high-ranking traffic cops should be advocating on all corners in theory! That is, if they are really interested in teenage safety. But instead we see something else: a banal blow-up of a topic that is now fashionable among the traffic police – an electric scooter.
We understand everything, of course: the traffic police have finally managed to “push” the government to change the traffic rules. Violate all the rules of the “regulatory guillotine”. And now in the Rules we have a mention of electric means for individual mobility (including electric scooters). So what next, especially when you consider that there are no traffic violation fines for SIM owners?
Let’s celebrate this event by reducing the problem of child safety to the ability to use electric trains? So on such transport now mainly adults dissect. Maybe it’s time the traffic police lords started lobbying for mandatory “electric scooter courses” for them, huh? It will also be hopeless, but at least it makes sense…
