The Vietnamese company VinFast has patented two more crossovers in Russia

In the open database of Rospatent, images appeared of two more crossovers of the Vietnamese brand VinFast, which planned to break through on the Russian market in 2023. It is curious that the machines that received the document have not even been presented yet. But it is very likely that we have before us the series versions of the electric trains presented by the Asians at the beginning of this year.

Founded just five years ago, VinFast started out with cars built based on previous generations of BMW – we’re talking about the LUX A2.0 sedan (BMW 5 Series) and the LUX SA 2.0 crossover (BMW X5). Then, succumbing to trends, the manufacturer switched to electric trains and released the VF8 and VF9 models, which, by the way, are already on sale in Europe, and next year they should “roll” to Russia.

Interestingly, just a few months after the premiere of VF8 and VF9, the Vietnamese presented a few more new products to the public – however, in the status of concepts. At CES 2022 in Las Vegas, they released the more compact VF5, VF6 and VF7. The latter is also patented in Russia. And now it seems that the turn of the “five” and “six” has arrived.

Yes, the cars in the images published by Rospatent are different from the cars shown in the United States at the beginning of the year – take the same look, for example. But there’s a logical explanation for this: pre-production versions almost always look different from show cars. However, given the speed with which the Vietnamese are rolling out new items, it’s possible that this is something entirely new.

It remains only to add that there are no technical details about the mysterious machines. We’ll probably find out later. Or maybe we don’t know. After all, obtaining a patent on a model is no guarantee that a model will enter the Russian market.
