There are a large number of Haval SUVs and crossovers in Russia. The Chinese have and offer many different models, so the buyer has plenty to choose from.
There are a large number of Haval SUVs and crossovers in Russia. The Chinese have and offer many different models, so the buyer has plenty to choose from.
Let’s start with the front-wheel drive Haval H6: The owner of a car produced in 2019 complains about the quality of service from an authorized dealer – they say they are negligent in the inspection. He therefore recommends that you be present in the workshop during regular maintenance and that you observe the mechanics. Another complaint is that there are not many spare parts to replace – and this is with the “officials”. Only oil and filters are available, while prices for everything are high. Therefore, he advises to buy spare parts and consumables in advance so as not to overpay.
When inspecting his car, it turned out that the rear brake pads had to be replaced urgently at 30,000 km on the odometer, but they were not in stock. This could have been postponed without the nearly 200 km return journey home. Of the other malfunctions, the owner noted the replacement of the stabilizer bars and the radiator of the air conditioning – too many problems for such a small edition.
Or another unfortunate story about the Haval H6 2019, but this time with four-wheel drive. Someone Eugene complains that a week after buying a car, his clutch “lost”. And the run was only 50 km! The dealer was very surprised, but the problem was fixed. After 25,000 km, however, it came back. The owner writes that the clutch simply “burns” under load, while there is an unbearable stench in the cabin.
The owners of Haval H9 also did not shy away from problems. So the driver of the 2015 four-wheel drive “frame” complains about the shaft drive, which just fell off at 15,000 km. Good thing it didn’t go so fast. The driveshaft outboard bearing falls apart every 35,000 km. Further. After 50,000 km, the engine began to “eat” oil: now consumption reaches a liter for every 3,000 km. And after 60,000 km, the paint literally began to fall off in pieces near the wings. In addition, the tailgate rusts under the chrome.
Igor from Nefteyugansk adds that the front suspension of his H9 was rebuilt three times in two years and the engine stalled at 90,000 km. Although it is possible that the owner has “tried” it himself here, because engines usually don’t break for no reason. On the other hand, this is a “Chinese” – you can expect everything from him.
And how many different tricks are there that are typical for dealers of many “heavenly” brands. For example, here is the so-called “zero” TO at the price of TO-1. Why not just change the oil? The price would be much lower. And if some work is required, then the manufacturer has to be paid for it. After all, nothing serious should happen to the car for 2000 km.
Add to this the high cost of spare parts and you get the following result: a Korean car costs much less maintenance than a ‘Chinese’ one. Not to mention liquidity in the secondary market. In general, the same “Koreans”, “Germans” and “Japanese” are much more preferable in all respects.
