The Russian car market is changing rapidly. Until recently, it was hard to imagine that electric vehicles would be brought to us en masse. And now new items “charged” with power appear with enviable regularity. So today in Moscow showed the crossover Skywell ET5. The car is aimed at the premium segment and costs almost five million rubles. About what kind of car this is, the AvtoVzglyad portal tells.

Skywell is a Chinese company that is part of the Skyworth Group holding company. The founder is considered to be Stephen Wong, who once started a company for the production of television remote controls and thus earned the first capital. Then the entrepreneur made televisions, and later it came to cars. Of course, electric. So, in 2020, the first crossover debuted in China – the same Skywell ET5.

In such a short time, the model began to be sold in 42 countries of the world, and now it is our country’s turn. The head of Skywell’s representative office in Russia, Alexander Ivanov, is sure that the time for the start of the expansion has been well chosen, as many manufacturers have limited their activities and the car market has changed greatly. This process will continue as authorities have recently begun to pay a lot of attention to electric cars and have promised their owners various benefits and benefits so that people in big cities can already appreciate the benefits of such cars.

Externally, the Skywell ET5 looks nice. It is comparable in size to well-known SUVs such as the Geely Tugella and Mitsubishi Outlander, but slightly smaller than the Exeed TXL. That is, the “interclass” model.

Looking at the example that is in the flagship showroom, I notice that it has been properly assembled and painted. In general, there are no questions about the quality. You can only criticize the rear parking camera, which is placed above the license plate, ie in the dirtiest place. It definitely needs to be cleaned regularly.

As for the interior, there are no complaints either. The driver is greeted by a comfortable electric seat. A huge 12.8-inch monitor is installed in the center of the front panel, furthermore there is a graphic instrument panel, stylish interior lighting, a multifunction steering wheel and a so-called rest mode. Then the front seat folds up at the push of a button and turns into a kind of bed.

The interior is pleasant to the touch. Here leather, Alcantara and wooden inserts. The feeling of a premium car really takes place and this is the main thing, because for a car, we repeat, they ask from 4,480,000 rubles.

As for the equipment, when I opened the hood, all I saw was a plastic case and a neck for filling the washing machine. A 204 hp electric motor connected to an inverter in one node is not visible. This proves once again that the maintenance of such innovative technology is much cheaper than cars with the usual power unit.

If we talk about the “refueling time”, after connecting the car to a household socket, the battery is completely ready in 12 hours, and with the help of a charging station, the whole process takes only 30 minutes.

Overall, Skywell ET5 left a pleasant impression. There is no “Chinese” in it at all. As for sea trials, we’ll wait until November. In the first half of the month, the Russian representative office of the brand promises to start sales, around the same time it will be possible to test the car. Portal “AutoVzglyad” will certainly do.
