Agree: quite often, in bad weather, the “windshield washer” indicator on the dashboard lights up, which is running out. What are we doing? We take and add a new one, without considering whether it differs from the previous one and whether it is possible to do so.
To begin with, we remember that the windshield washer fluid, made on the basis of distilled water, in combination with detergent chemistry, does not have antifreeze properties. In other words, such manure can be used only in the warm season. It is available in a variety of colors and flavors and is completely neutral to any kind of alcohol. Simply put, it can be easily mixed with all winter antifreeze solutions. Only in this case, it should be borne in mind that alcohol dissolves water in itself in a ratio of at least ⅛. Otherwise, such a “washing machine” will freeze in the tank of your car just as quickly as its summer counterpart.
As a rule, winter “antifreeze” based on ethyl and isopropyl alcohol, which are considered safe, unlike “scorched” products from methanol, which poisons the body, is already diluted with water “fifty-fifty” at the factory. And if you add more to save money, you risk severely affecting the washer fluid properties.
