According to the developer, one of the most common ways among traffic offenders to hide car numbers is to use a magnet operated from the remote control from the passenger compartment. It is mounted on the back of the registration board frame. When switched on, it presses a small iron object against the polyester, under which, for example, a piece of paper is slid. Through the paper, the camera cannot read the number and the offender goes unpunished. When the traffic police approach the offending driver, he disables the magnet and the “mask” falls, revealing the license plate. In a conversation with Gazeta.Ru, Laskin clarified that many such devices are sold on the Internet.
According to the expert, the classic way to avoid fines from traffic police cameras in the winter is a snowball that “accidentally” ends up in the license plate, covering part of the alphanumeric combination.
An equally common method of making the GRP difficult to read is to use dirt. To do this, drivers at a car wash specifically cover license plates with a bag or cloth so that dirt is not washed off them. This also prevents video recording systems from recognizing the intruder.
We add that it is strictly forbidden to use these or other methods: administrative liability is provided for such “jokes”. So, for driving with illegible license plates, you can get a fine of 500 rubles, and with custom ones (for example, with the same magnets) – 5000 rubles. Or even lose “rights” for up to 3 months. These sanctions are in Art. 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
