Korean brands loved by Russians consistently made it into the TOP-3 until June, when Hyundai fell out of the top three for the first time, letting GAZ pass. In July everything seemed back to normal, but in August only Kia remained on the podium – Haval started to grow rapidly and climbed to third place. In September, Kia sank, but pulled itself up to the “silver” Hyundai. And in October they took only the fourth and seventh place: the first sold 3333 cars, the second – 1840.
According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), Russian dealers sold a total of 45,228 cars last month, 62.8% less than last year. The top performers were AVTOVAZ (19,145 units), Haval (4426 units), and GAZ (3912 units).
If you look at the models, the LADA Granta is still the most popular – 12,426 people chose it in its favour. Second place went to Niva Legend and Niva Travel (4755 contracts closed), and third and fourth place went to China’s Haval Jolion and Geely Coolray (3069 and 1600 transactions respectively). LADA Vesta closes the top five: dealers handed over 992 cars to customers. And then there are UAZ Patriot (890 units), Geely Atlas Pro (757 units), Hyundai Santa Fe (671 units), Haval F7 (623 units) and Kia Seltos (548 units).
