The first prototype of the Russian electric car will appear in the third quarter of 2023. TASS reports this based on the press service of the production company Kama. And by 2025, mass-produced cars should already be on the country’s roads.

– I think the Kama project is on schedule and the solutions it offers are very modern. And the prototype will appear next year, – said Sergey Kogogin, general manager of KamAZ recently.

It should be remembered that initially the project was personally financed by Mr. Kogogin together with businessman Ruben Vardanyan, who invested 720 million rubles in it. And they decided to call the first electric car “Atom”, and not “Kama-1”, as previously planned, because Rosatom Corporation became interested in the startup.

According to RTVI, the start-up plans to spend $20,000,000 of the amount raised to purchase an inactive Ford plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. There they have to arrange the welding, painting and assembling of the bodies of the upcoming novelty. As for stamped parts, the Turkish company Coskunoz will be working on their release.
