Nissan suspends production over semiconductor problems

Japan’s Nissan is experiencing such problems with the supply of semiconductor components that it has been forced to interrupt the production cycle at its companies. Portal “AutoVzglyad” found out the details.

One of the Nissan plants, located in the US state of Mississippi, will be inactive for several days. This is becoming a forced measure to reduce the consumption of semiconductor components. The Japanese have sent the corresponding notice to their dealers. The reduction in production volumes will thus affect the Titan and Frontier pickups, as well as the Altima sedan, known in Russia as Teana.

Recall that the company officially stopped accepting orders for a new generation of its X-Trail crossover a week ago. All for the same reason – the lack of semiconductors. This “hybrid” was sold in the Japanese market for only a few months before its implementation was indefinitely curtailed in early November. Previously, similar problems with the supply of electronic components had another Japanese car manufacturer – Toyota. This company has also had to close its factories regularly during the past and the beginning of this year.
