The American company Independent Electric Vehicles, founded in 2017, showed its firstborn, Indi One, in New York. It is a five-seat electric crossover with a modern design and permanent all-wheel drive, but the highlight is in the cabin: instead of an on-board multimedia system, Indi One received a high-performance Windows computer. You can work on it, play video games, edit photos and videos – in a word, do everything that a full-fledged computer allows.

The Vehicle Integrated Computer (VIC) system is equipped with two touchscreen monitors on the front panel, and there is a 5G modem for Internet access. The equipment also includes microphones and five cameras, three of which are located in the cabin. On Indi One, you can play video games, including those synchronized with driving. It is not completely clear what they mean, but Tesla already had problems with a similar function – as a result, it was blocked.

By default, the electric crossover has a glass panoramic roof and air suspension. The original version of the Standard Indi One is rear-wheel drive. It is driven by an electric motor with a capacity of 279 horsepower (410 Nm of torque), which is requested from a battery with a capacity of 75 kilowatt-hours. It provides up to 370 km without recharging.

The top-of-the-range Premium variant is equipped with two motors, one for each axle. Their total output is 482 forces and 730 Nm, and a 95 kilowatt-hour battery allows you to overcome up to 480 kilometers. The maximum speed of this version is 209 kilometers per hour, and the acceleration time from standstill to the first hundred is 4.2 seconds – at the level of the BMW X7 from Alpina.

Independent Electric Vehicles has already begun accepting orders in the US. The price of an SUV starts from 45 thousand dollars and reaches 69 thousand. Now the company is certifying new items and conducting crash tests, production is scheduled to begin in 2023 in the United States.
