As it became known, the modernization of the conveyor affects only the lines of the total production. The automaker plans to purchase six machining centers for the stub axle manufacturing site and seven CNC machines for ball joint processing. In addition, they will perform “upgrades” of the crankcase line of the front, rear and center axles, as well as the assembly process control system.
It is possible that the sanction period will allow to bring production to another level relatively painlessly, but it will not allow KamAZ to purchase the necessary elements of automatic transmissions and power plants. But a modern truck is primarily an economical, environmentally friendly engine in combination with the current automatic transmission. And it is precisely with this that the plant has problems due to the existing restrictions. Establishing contacts with new suppliers from the same China is unlikely and offers little perspective. At least in the near future.
It remains only to add that according to the newspaper Vesti KamAZ, the modernization of production will be completed in 2023.
