A “high-tech” Beetle with Alexa can perform face recognition on a driver and determine if they are over 18. If you don’t have it, the Beetle won’t leave this place. Besides sleep monitoring function activates an alarm to wake up the driver if he falls asleep🇧🇷

The prototype was exhibited at the Knowledge Fair in Ceara. The Alexa-tuned beetle, which will now also have a male voice in Brazil, was one of the highlights of the event. “The public really liked it, they really liked the built-in technology, all these facial recognition programs. For them it was completely new. Many people really had nothing to do with these technologies and were surprised at what computing is capable of. And this is also one of the reasons why we are in this project, namely accessibility for the population,” commented Ricardo Silva Gurgel Fernandez.

The prototype will be improved

According to Ricardo, despite the fact that this is a prototype, the project participants dream of taking the car to the streets. For those who love the good old Beetle, Alexa fuschinha can make the car look more modern.

“In the future, we hope to be able to use it on the roads. Make a self-managed system. And we also need an electric motor to make the whole car a green, environmentally friendly and sustainable project,” commented Ricardo.

The work was coordinated by Professor Sandro Mesquita (UniAteneu e Pixels) and, in addition to Ricardo, Francisco Wesley de Oliveira Alves, Francisco Marcelo de Sousa Junior, Paulo Nicolás Madeiro de Sousa Nascimento, Reissa Victoria de Araujo, Avila Lima took part in it.
