A moving car in the cold should definitely be given some time to “rattle” at idle. In more detail, wait at least until the engine drops back to top speed. And only then can you get moving, while not having to refuel and at low speeds. You cannot enter Schumacher mode until the engine has warmed up to operating temperature.
