The company has advised users of Office 2013 programs to upgrade to a newer version to reduce the security risks associated with applications such as Word 2013, Outlook 2013, PowerPoint 2013, Excel 2013 and other software.

Simply put, all of the software in this version listed in the document will not receive performance or security updates starting April next year. Thus, when support ends, the company will also no longer provide technical support and bug fixes.

The company also indicates that Office 2013 clients may experience compatibility issues. Microsoft told its customers: “After five years of basic support and five years of extended support, Office 2013 will end extended support on April 11, 2023. In accordance with the Fixed Lifecycle Policy, security updates for Office 2013 will no longer be available after this date.”
