Truck sales began to fall in March after the first round of sanctions were imposed by the European Union and many foreign manufacturers and parts suppliers decided to suspend their operations in Russia. Although the market for business transport still received less than passenger cars: the worst monthly result was a volume decrease of ‘only’ 44%. And then, finally, the growth started – heavy trucks closed November, albeit in a small, but still plus.
According to the Avtostat bureau, a third of all “cargo” sales last month fell on KamAZ vehicles – 2,619 vehicles sold, -12.4% in November 2021. The second place was taken by the Chinese company Shacman (daughter of Shaanxi) : 1248 cars were sold. The third – again “heavenly” Sitrak (829 units), the fourth – FAW (771 units), the fifth – MAZ (437 units). GAZ became the sixth (425 units), but has a significant decrease – by 43.9%.
As for the rating by model, it was also “populated” by Chinese cars. Chelny residents are not the first: the list is opened by a newcomer from China – Sitrak C7H (829 units). KamAZ 43118 took “silver”, FAW CA3310 – “bronze”. In addition, KamAZ 65115 and Shacman SX3258 were in the top five.
Yes, the market has grown, but, as we can see, only at the expense of “heavenly” car manufacturers. As they increase their presence, domestic companies continue to decline, also as they experience production problems, in turn due to sanctions. And instead of seeking a solution to problems in Russia, setting up the production of their own parts and assemblies, they try to negotiate with Chinese partners. And there is no security in them and cannot be.
