Therefore, when another DVR with a radar detector came into the test, I had some doubts about its usefulness on such “traveled” routes. Nevertheless, the acquaintance with the “combine” Navitel XR2600 PRO turned out to be interesting, and “AvtoVzglyad” decided to convey its details to the reader.
Many similar devices have passed through my hands, so I know exactly where to look when I first come into contact with such equipment – at the hardware base. The Navitel XR2600 PRO uses a dual-core MSTAR MSC8339 processor, which promises good performance and good video quality, which is the main highlight of the gadget. The camera of the device is the IMX307 of the STARVIS family from Sony with a matrix diagonal of 6.46 mm. It is known for its advanced night vision performance. During the day, even the simpler competitors can shoot normally. Both the videos themselves and the display on the screen leave a pleasant impression.
The body of the Regica in its “camera” form factor is small, which will only please one of its owners. Hefty registrars with radar detector functions, popular about 3-4 years ago, the author of these lines, for the most part, was a little annoyed. They loomed too clearly on the windshield before my eyes. Well, as you know, the bigger the box, the harder it falls.
The combi holder with magnetic closure is glued to the glass with non-peelable adhesive tape. Fall – no chance. Menu buttons are located at the ends. It’s quite big, clear and pretty standard for most “combines”. It has three sections: video settings, radar detector with informant and changeable parameters of the technical section. Quickly set the recording and alert settings according to your preferences, without having to look at the instructions. Daily commutes involve driving around town, so from the device’s four possible operating modes (Route, City 1, City 2, and Signature) I chose the one called “City 1” so that the device would be less responsive to unnecessary signals. But from time to time, out of curiosity, he “drove” in other modes to understand what can be expected of him in different situations.
While everything is still in the ether and the nearest limit of automatic fixation is far away (the database of traffic police cameras is silent), the video from the camera is displayed on the screen. When approaching the location of the camera, the screen goes black and a counter of the distance to the camera and a list of violations that are being checked appear on the left. If the radiation from a police radar or laser is detected, a visualization of its intensity and nature appears on the right: laser, K, Ka or X band.
And so a radar detector with a GPS informant pleased me on one of my usual urban routes. It turned out that for a week in one place, while I did not appear there, they “stuck” a camera that fixes the non-passing of pedestrians on the “zebra”. And since they cross the road there in a continuous stream during rush hours, it is elementary to earn a fine of 2500 rubles if they try to break through their “wall”. And in a few other locations, the traffic police cameras, which I thought had long ceased to work, turned out not to be forgotten boxes on poles, but sophisticated dummies. The radar detector beeped at them regularly and called them “Arrows”. On the one hand, I was happy with this, since not all combos can see Strelka. Although the choice of places to install these dummies looked strange.
Based on the results of our test, it is quite possible to say that this device is worth its 11-12 thousand, which will be demanded in stores where there are enough devices and more expensive. And since, as I said, most of us travel the same routes, this price will not be too heavy.
