According to car theft statistics cited by AutoInsurance specialists, the Hyundai Santa Fe crossover became the most popular among criminals in 2022. This model accounted for 18% of the total number of thefts in Russia.
In the capital region, mid-range cars are popular with thieves, but the attackers have clearly lost interest in premium models, which once topped the list of most stolen cars.
Bandits’ favorites are Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Tucson crossovers, as well as Hyundai Solaris and Sonata sedans. Among other cars at risk are Korean Kia and Japanese Toyota products.
And on the country’s roads, car replacements have become more active. So much so that both insurers and representatives of the Ministry of the Interior are shrugging their shoulders.
