Lincoln embarked on an electrification journey with the introduction of the Star Concept show car. Built on the architecture of the parent Ford, the crossover will become a benchmark for the brand’s future electric vehicles in terms of design and content. And although the Star Concept has a lot of elements that have already become standard for modern concepts – “suicidal” doors, a giant screen and returning chairs – the battery Lincoln has something to surprise.

The Lincoln Star Concept features multiple lighting elements with a repeating grid pattern and 3D printed window pillars that are blacked out on the outside.

However, the trunks, of which there are two, are the most interesting. When you open the rear part of the feed turns over, turning into a bench for outdoor recreation, and the front has an additional shelf – it moves forward along with a “plug” with a Lincoln nameplate. You can see the contents of the trunk without opening it: for this, there is a window in the hood with electrochromatic glass.

The interior is further divided into front and rear zones both in design and seat color, but both are equally premium, Lincoln notes. There are footrests, a glass box for cooling drinks (it is located between the rear seats), storage places for devices and even slippers.

The crossover media system offers three atmospheric modes in case of traffic jams: they involve lighting, audio and a built-in flavor.

Morning-inspired Coastal Morning mimics the sunrise on the ocean coast, daytime Mindful Vitality uses abstract art and floral scents, and Evening Chill, with soft lighting and night sky images, is designed to set you in the mood for the upcoming vacation. In the future, it is planned to expand the library of modes and add the ability to customize.

The Star Concept is based on Ford’s electronic architecture, which includes both rear and all-wheel drive. Other details about the technical equipment of the Lincoln crossover were not disclosed. According to unofficial data, the production version may see the light before the end of the year, and other battery innovations will follow. By 2026, at least five electric crossovers will appear in the Lincoln lineup.
