NVIDIA announced at CES 2023 that vehicles from several automakers will have their game streaming service, GeForce now. Initially, there will be three partner automakers who will incorporate the application into the vehicle’s systems. Hyundai Motor Group, BYD and Polestar.

The GeForce Now app will integrate the vehicle’s systems, allowing passengers to access their Steam game libraries and partner apps. The novelty comes with the development of electric and autonomous vehicles, which increasingly rely on more advanced embedded systems.

Ali Kani, Vice President of NVIDIA Automotive, praised the new vehicle configurations enabling GeForce Now: “Accelerated computing, artificial intelligence and connectivity bring a new level of automation, safety, convenience and enjoyment to the car.”

The executive adds, saying: “The ability to stream popular titles from gamers’ libraries, as well as dozens of free games, will take in-car infotainment to the next level.”

The three manufacturers involved in this initial wave are already partnering with NVIDIA, and all of them use the NVIDIA DRIVE system. Hyundai Motor Group is using the system across the entire Hyundai, Kia and Genesis lineup and will roll out GeForce Now to select models.

Polestar will include the service in its electric vehicles, while BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEV), is developing electric vehicles that will include GeForce Now.

Marcio AguiarDirector of NVIDIA Corporate Latin America, also spoke about the news: “The convergence of automotive and gaming technology is extremely promising, and GeForce NOW shows how we can bring quality entertainment to spaces that were unimaginable until recently.”
