And what was our surprise when we got to the Kia salon – the exact opposite of the Hyundai showroom: the cars are almost on top of each other, you cannot squeeze through them. Both Rio sedans and Rio X hatchbacks are available. The most affordable option is a four-door with a 1.4 liter engine and “mechanics”. For a car with full-fledged multimedia and a rear-view camera, the dealer asks 1,890,000 rubles. But he warns: “Rio” is coming to an end – only 3 sedans are left.
When we entered the Volkswagen dealership, we got the impression that despite all the difficulties, the Wolfsburgers are doing well. The showroom contained crossovers Taos, Tiguan, Touareg, Teramont. What about Polo? He also appeared at the dealership. Various configurations are offered, and the cheapest car costs at least 1,890,000 rubles. In addition, the consultant assured us that there were heaps of budget liftbacks in the dealer’s warehouse. In total “Polo” and “Rapid” – as many as 250 pieces. It seems suspicious, but what’s the point if a manager cheats? On the contrary, it is more beneficial for him to frighten us with a shortage, so that they buy without hesitation. So let’s believe.
In the dealer cluster we visited, Skoda shares a ‘living area’ with its sister Volkswagen. Although there seem to be fewer Czech cars there: one each from the Rapid, Octavia and Karoq families. We were particularly interested in the former – as we said, the retailer has plenty of Rapidov. True, there were no cars left on the “mechanics” at all. The most affordable two-pedal liftback will take 1,960,000 rubles out of your wallet.
Of course we also visited the LADA showroom to inquire about the Granta and Vesta models. The first, of course, cannot be put on a par with the once budget foreign cars, but still. As for Vesta, you can’t buy it for less than 1.8 million rubles. For this money, the consultant offered us a pre-styling sedan in the Sport modification – the one with a 1.8-liter engine with 145 horsepower and a “handle”. Those who want to buy a refreshed Vesta should be prepared from 2,250,000 rubles. This is the minimum price of a sedan. Yes, yes, if previous dealers only released station wagons, now they also sell four-doors.
