Why in winter it is absolutely impossible to turn on the air conditioning, not even to blow the windshield

Many experts “drown” due to the fact that even in the winter season you need to turn on the air conditioner in the car from time to time so that moisture does not accumulate in the nodes and the fat does not thicken. However, there are opposing opinions about driving with an activated climate system in cold weather.

Yes, for prevention and saving a resource for cold weather, many car owners, albeit sporadically, turn on the air conditioning system. At least in order to quickly “defrost” the windshield or deprive it of the fogging effect. But a number of specialist experts believe that this should not happen. And here’s why.

It would be worth knowing that freon enters the air system not in gaseous form, but in liquid form. And only then it turns into the same gas, while extracting heat from the air entering the ventilation. In a gaseous state, the refrigerant enters the compressor of the air conditioner, where it turns back into water.

The main thing here is that freon boils at a pressure of about 15 atmospheres – at the temperature of the lion’s share of climate systems in cars, equal to zero. If in a simple way, then in frost to convert liquid freon into gaseous, there may simply not be enough heat. And this can easily lead to fatal consequences of “kondeya”, faulty compressors and damage to other elements.

In other words, at sub-zero temperatures, activation of the climate system is contraindicated. Unless, of course, overboard isn’t a critically low degree. For example, with a slight drop in the thermometer, it is quite possible to use the A / C button. Melt the same windows or dry, for example, an interior that is too damp. But it is better not to “use” the automatic function of maintaining the set temperature, which has the climate control system. As they say, away from sin…

By the way, experts do not recommend turning off the car with the air conditioning on. Why – discovered the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.
