The engine is one of the most expensive car parts, so every buyer tries to choose a used car with the most “living” engine. However, the “wild market”
It is almost impossible to buy a decent used car in the price range up to 300,000 rubles now. Calling a shovel a shovel, for such an amount you can only buy “firewood”. However, quite recently a curious and extremely effective solution to the “machine problem” was found, which required a small amount of money in the account. Yes, you have to run, but the result will exceed all expectations.
The fact is that new engines of unknown origin were brought to the domestic market in commercial quantities, which are sold at quite reasonable prices. For example, let’s take Mitsubishi Lancer, which is not alien to us: the most common ICE, with a capacity of 1.6 liters, can be bought from 100,000 to 120,000 rubles. And this is a new engine that will last much longer than a remanufactured engine. But where does such happiness come from and is it possible to place it?
The secret here, if any, is an open secret: Mitsubishi engines – 4G15s and 4G18 were installed on cars of the Chinese BYD brand. They are somewhat – visually, with a valve cover, for example – different from the classic Mitsu engines, but in fact 4G18, also known as DA4G18, is the same 4G16 that is in great demand with us – despite the index, the working volume is 1584 cm3 . The difference, as usual, is only in the numbers in the documents and the letters on the rocker cover. However, the sellers do not hide this – Chinese papers with a Chinese index are clearly visible in the photos.
We add to the price the installation (from 12,000 rubles) and consumables in the form of oil and filters: voila, we get a car with a new engine. Despite the fact that the shot, if you do it with high quality and for yourself, and not for sale, it will not cost less than 150,000 rubles in any way – spare parts are now too expensive. By the way, in the most famous Chinese flea market, the engine costs about 110,000 rubles, but if you turn your eyes to Kazakhstan, then from $ 1,400, that’s about 96,600 rubles. But here you should not forget about the logistics costs – the engine weighs a lot and needs a crate during transportation.
Similarly, engines are also sold for the super popular “state employees” Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio and Volkswagen Polo. Engines for the “Germans” are slightly more expensive, but replacing the internal combustion engine with a “Korean” will cost even less: a 1.6-liter G4FC, already delivered to Moscow, can be found for 90,000 rubles. By the way, the price of the long-suffering Korean G4KE (2.4-liter gasoline engine Kia Sorento, with which all crossover owners are at war) is quite biting – 255,000 rubles. And here the shot wins and takes 20% less from the wallet.
